Discovering Hidden Disney: Grizzly River Run Scrapbook Layout with CTMH’s “The Good Life” Collection

Hello, crafty explorers! Today, I’m excited to take you behind the scenes of Disney’s California Adventure with a unique scrapbook layout inspired by the hidden path and waterfall behind Grizzly River Run.

Unlike the bustling attractions, this serene spot offers a calm, nature-filled backdrop perfect for capturing quiet Disney moments. Using Close To My Heart’s (CTMH) “The Good Life” collection, I transformed these memories into a beautiful, rustic 12x12 double-page layout that combines both the thrill of the rapids and the peaceful vibe of the park’s natural scenery.

Step-by-Step: Bringing Grizzly River Run to Life

1. Creating the River Background

Recreating the Rapids Out of Cardstock & White Gloss Spriy

I started with cardstock cut into waves and splashes, enhanced with inked edges and white gloss spray to create the look of rushing water. This layer became the foundation, capturing the power of the Grizzly River rapids.

2. Choosing the Perfect Photos

I focused on photos of the pathway, waterfall, and entryway—small moments that represent both the excitement of the ride and the calm of the hidden nature trail. These images set the scene for a journey of discovery within the layout.

3. Adding Rustic & Adventure Details

CTMH Stamp & Thin Cut Set "Smores Adventure"

To bring out the theme of exploration, I added mining-inspired accents from “The Good Life” Digital Art Kit and included stamped bears from the “S’mores Adventure” set, giving the layout a whimsical, storybook charm. These details, along with elements from Disney’s Gold Rush history, create a lively and unique design.
