Disney Toy Story Scrapbook Layout Crafting With My Little Man

Updated: Aug 19

Ahhh, the infamous question... "Is this a ride that is a game" or "is this a game that is a ride"? It's kinda like the "How many licks" owl with the tootsie pop! I don't think the world will ever know the answer! LOL!! All I know is that for us, Toy Story Midway Mania is a rootin, tootin good time and we love it!!

Today, I am thrilled to share a heartwarming tale of scrapbooking fun with my little man as we embarked on a Toy Story Midway Mania-inspired project. Let the crafting adventure begin!

Picture this - my son excitedly approached me with the idea of designing his second scrapbook page featuring our thrilling ride photos. I was over the moon eager to dive into this creative journey, eager to hear his ideas and see which papers and embellishments he had in mind! As he revealed his plans, he flashed a photo of a cute digital scrapbook page and mentioned needing $50 for a digital kit. Hold up, did I just hear that right, little man? 😄 I challenged him to craft something equally amazing using what we already possessed, and the crafty challenge began!

While I pondered on the cardstock colors, I urged my son to explore my stash and select items that matched our theme. Suddenly, he proposed a brilliant idea - incorporating Woody holding a Bullseye into the layout. Unable to find a free SVG, we splurged a few bucks on Etsy for character designs to bring his vision to life. (Click photo for link for Esty seller).

We were also able to find the Toy Story logo and the "Reward" sign.  Little man was super excited because these were pretty darn close to the ones that were used on the layout we were trying to recreate.  To make these, we used the coordinating cardstock from a CTMH collection called "Let's Party". The colors were a perfect match to the the Toy Story color scheme.

We also snagged the Toy Story logo and the "Reward" sign, using coordinating cardstock from CTMH's "Let's Party" collection for a perfect match with Toy Story's color palette. As we diligently worked on cutting the new SVGs to size on Design Space, I asked my son for any additional elements he wished to include. A barrel, the word "Howdy," and a sheriff's badge were his top picks, and we found them all!

For the adorable flowers on the page, my son opted for Layered Flowers Thin Cuts in vibrant colors, mixing and matching hues creatively. His eye for detail shone as he added varying colors for the flower centers, creating a unique and charming touch.

Look at how cute they turned out!! I loved how he used different colors for the centers. Even mixed colors that you wouldnt normally see together!

Upon assembling all our crafted pieces, my son surprised me by going heavy-handed with foam tape. Curious about the excess, his response floored me - "Mom, the game is 3D, so I wanted our page to pop out in 3D too!" What a clever lad, infusing depth and dimension into our project with his ingenious idea!

Inspiration - Disney Toy Story Scrapbook Layout Crafting With My Little Man

Reflecting on the inspiration behind our endeavor:

my son stumbled upon a Disney scrapbooking site that sparked his creativity. After searching apparently hundreds of pages, he found this layout that he wanted to create.

After completing our page, I had asked him to give me the information of where this layout came from. Sadly, couldn’t find the orgional page or the creator so that we could ask permission to post. After, much contemplation regarding sharing without permission, I decided to share our journey with you all today.

If you are the brilliant mind behind the layout that ignited our imaginations, know that your artistry left a lasting impression on my son's creative spirit. Though unable to credit you directly, please accept our heartfelt thanks for inspiring a memorable bonding experience between a mother and her son. Your work not only enhanced our scrapbooking adventure but also etched a treasured memory in our hearts. If by chance you recognize our project or are the original creator, please reach out - we would love to connect and express our gratitude for the inspiration you brought to our crafting world! 🌟📸✨ Disney Toy Story Scrapbook Layout Crafting With My Little Man
