🍪 “Fat Girl Wanted Cookies”! A 12x12 Cookie-Themed Scrapbook Layout That’s Good to the Last Crumb!

Updated: Dec 16, 2025

Scrapbook with cookie theme, featuring photos of a person with dessert boxes. Text says "Fat Girl Wanted Cookies!" Pink and brown accents.
One craving. Six photos. Unlimited sass. This cookie-fueled layout is baked to perfection!

Let’s be real—some layouts don’t happen because they’re “on the schedule.” They happen because the craving hits harder than a tray of fresh-baked Crumbl.

That’s exactly how this double-page scrapbook layout was born. One cup of coffee. One sugar craving. One full-bodied laugh. And before I knew it, “Fat Girl Wanted Cookies!” wasn’t just a title… it was a whole dang mood.

And now? It’s cheeky, sweet, totally stuffed with personality, and layered with cardstock, custom stamping, and pure scene-building magic. So if you’re craving inspiration and love a layout that tells the whole snack-attack story (right down to the crumbs), pull up a chair.

Let’s bake this beauty, layer by layer. 🍪

🍪 Step-by-Step: How This “Fat Girl Wanted Cookies” - 12x12 Scrapbook Layout Came to Life

🧁 1. Start With the Vanilla Base

Use two 12x12 pieces of Stampin’ Up! Very Vanilla cardstock as your base. This gives you the perfect neutral start for a layout filled with rich color and playful energy.

🍪 2. Stamp Your Own Cookie Paper!

Stamp set titled "Perfect Pairs" with illustrated pairs like salt and pepper, and cookie-patterned paper. Brown marker on dark surface.
Who needs DSP when you’ve got stamps and sass?

Grab an 8-1/2” x 11” sheet of Basic Beige and cut it in half vertically to get two pieces: 4-1/4” x 11”.

Use the Perfect Pairs cookie stamp and randomly stamp all over both pieces with Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad.

Color the heart-shaped chocolate chips using the Bronze Stampin’ Blend. Then, ink up the edges with Espresso for a warm, toasted look. Let it dry!

📌 Pro Tip: Let everything dry completely before moving on — trust me, nothing smears faster than Espresso ink on a cookie stamp.

🍫 3. Adhere Your Cookie Paper (With a Twist!)

Open craft journal with cookie-patterned borders on a marble surface. Black ruler edges frame the pages. Text: ThisChickLovesPaper.com.
Please don’t call it a background… call it a back-DROP of cookie glory.

Your handmade cookie paper is only 11” long, but your base is 12x12. To keep things balanced, position your cookie panels 1/2” from the top edge of each page. This leaves a clean gap at the top and bottom for embellishing later.

🩷 4. Mocha Blocks for the Middle

Open scrapbook pages on a marble surface, with brown paper and cookie-patterned corners. Border features a ruler design. Text: ThisChickLovesPaper.com.
Mocha meets handmade cookie paper = scrapbook magic in the making!

Cut two pieces of CTMH Mocha or Stampin’ Up! Espresso 12x12 Two-Tone cardstock to 10” x 9”.

Ink up the edges with Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad.

Once the ink dries, adhere them horizontally through the center of each page to anchor the layout.

Serving up bakery box vibes with bold stripes and bubblegum flair!

🎀 5. Sweeten It With Stripes!

Cut your 8-1/2” x 11” Pretty in Pink cardstock in half (4-1/4” x 11”) and trim both pieces to 10” x 4-1/2”.

Cut your 8-1/2” x 11” Basic Black cardstock in half (4-1/4” x 11”)

Then cut 1” x 4-1/4” strips of Basic Black and glue them evenly spaced across your pink panels to make your striped paper.

Layered like a cookie trifle—sweet, rich, and totally irresistible.

Ink up the completed strips' edges with Pretty in Pink ink using a sponge dauber. Yes, ink even the Basic Black.

Let dry, then adhere to the layout. Position your strips 1/2” above the bottom edge of the mocha blocks, leaving a visible border.

📌 Pro Tip: Leave a little mocha border showing below your striped panel.

This little gap lets every layer pop, gives your eyes a breather, and keeps the photo mats from wrestling for attention.

☁️ 6. Add Your Scallops!

Sweet like frosting, fierce like flair—these scallops are the cherry on top of cookie couture! 💖✨ But heads up: this isn’t your typical border die. The CTMH Fancy Borders Thin Cut only cuts the top scalloped edge, so you control the length of the bottom.

Scrapbook layout with pink and black stripes, brown panels, and cookie patterns on a ruler-edged background. Text reads ThisChickLovesPaper.com.

That means:

• ✂️ You have to trim the straight edge yourself

• 📏 You must measure each one the same so your layout doesn’t look wonky

• 😅 And yes — it’s a little fussy, but absolutely worth every trimmed edge!

Cut your scallops from Pretty in Pink cardstock, then ink the edges with Espresso and let them dry.

Finally, adhere your scalloped borders across the seam where your handmade cookie paper ends and the vanilla cardstock begins—covering those 1/2” gaps like a pro.

☕ 7. Stitchin’ Ain’t Stressin’—Add Faux Stitch Strips!

Before adding your photo mats, cut two strips of CTMH Mocha cardstock to 10” x 1/4”. Use a white gel pen to add faux stitching across each strip. Then adhere them across the layout just above your striped panels.

Why the extra step? Two reasons:

1️⃣ If the stitching goes sideways, your layout isn’t ruined—just recut the strip and try again!

2️⃣ These little mocha strips add visual balance and dimension to that lower space, finishing off the area with flair.

📌 Pro Tip: Faux stitching is a foolproof way to get hand-sewn vibes—without the commitment (or the needle)!

📸 8. Mat Those Photos (Don’t Forget the Flip Flap!)

Scrapbook layout with pink, brown, and beige patterns, featuring cookie motifs. Includes frames for photos and text: ThisChickLovesPaper.com, Stampin’ Up!
Double-matted and dangerously cute—these photo frames are serving main character energy! 💁🏻‍♀️📷💗

Each photo is double-matted using White Daisy on top of either Pretty in Pink or Mocha, depending on the layout side.

📏 Base Mat Sizes (Before Layering):

• Left Page: (1) 4.5” x 6.5”, (2) 3.5” x 3.5”

• Right Page: (1) 4.5” x 3.5”, (1) 4.5” x 6.5”

To keep that crisp layered look, cut your White Daisy mats ¼” smaller than the base mats listed below.

To go bold: ink all your mat layers—including the White Daisy ones—by dragging the edges through a StazOn Jet Black pad. Instant drama, no foam tape required. 😘

✨ Here’s the secret sauce:

I placed one Mocha photo mat on each side of the layout—on top of the striped pink panels—to intentionally break up the bubblegum vibes and help those stripes shine through. The Mocha frames ground the design, give your eye a place to rest, and stop the pink from stealing the whole cookie jar.

• Bonus Bite: A 3x3 Flip Flap holds an extra photo and a hidden journaling spot—perfect for those cookie-fueled confessions 🍪📝

🍭 9. Title Time!

Pink stamp pad, lipstick, and card with text "Fat Girl Wanted Cookies!" featuring a mug and cookies on a marble surface.
When the title hits harder than the craving… pass the cookies!

I designed my title in Design Space® and cut it using my Cricut®.

It’s stacked using Pretty in Pink + Basic Black for the words.

The coffee cup is cut from Mocha cardstock, with Espresso-inked edges, and a heart is cut & inked in Pretty in Pink.

Pop it up with foam tape and perch it above the 4-1/2” x 3-1/2” photo mat on the right page — the perfect spot for a title that steals the show.

🖤 10. Add the Black Border Strips

Scrapbook layout on a cookie-patterned background. Brown and pink frames with text: "Fat girl wanted cookies!" Decorative pink scallops.
Mat game strong 💪 These frames came to snack and slay!

I added a 12” x 1/4” Basic Black strip to the scallops, top and bottom, on both pages for extra grounding and visual balance.

🍪 11. Build the Embellishment Clusters!

This layout features two custom embellishment clusters anchored by Deckled Circle Dies, and those aren’t just for looks. The layered circles act as grounding pieces, giving your eye a soft place to land amidst all that yummy texture and detail. One circle is placed slightly higher than the other to help form a visual triangle with the title—drawing your eye through the layout, not just to it.

Each cluster includes a stack of cookies, reinforcing the layout’s theme while helping to balance the design (and the craving 😜).

Here’s what I used:

• CTMH Freshly Baked Digital Art Kit – rolling pins, oven mitts, spatulas

• Stampin’ Up! Perfect Pairs Bundle – milk carton (tripled for a gallon effect!)

• Stampin’ Up! More Than Autumn Bundle – coffee cup, heart, whipped topping

📌 Pro Tip: Want a full-sized milk jug instead of a mini? Stack three identical cuts and BOOM — instant upgrade, zero calories.

💥 From Craving to Crafting: This Layout’s Got Layers (and a Whole Lotta Flavor!)

Scrapbook page with bakery theme, featuring a person holding a pink box, cookies, and text "Fat Girl Wanted Cookies!" in a playful design.
Proof that even a snack attack can become a scrapbook smackdown.” 🎯📸

From craving to crafting, this layout serves up layers of sweetness, sass, and pure paper magic. From hand-stamped cookie paper to foam-mounted flair, every detail tells the story of a snack attack turned scrapbook smackdown. And the title? Oh honey… it devours. 🍪🔥

What I love most is how versatile this design really is — switch the colors to pastels for a Valentine’s Day bake-off, go bold with red and green for Christmas cookie chaos, or keep it neutral for everyday “I just needed sugar” moments. It’s the perfect layout for documenting late-night baking, family kitchen traditions, holiday treat trays, cookie exchanges, or any yummy moment that made you laugh first and scrapbook it later.
