Grizzly River Run Scrapbook Layout: Capturing the Chaos, Thrills & Splash-Tastic Memories! šŸ»šŸ’¦šŸŽ¢

Crafting Disney Memories: Grizzly River Run Scrapbook Layout with CTMH’s ā€œLake Lifeā€ Collection
Hold on tight—it’s a wild ride! 🌊🐻 This Grizzly River Run scrapbook layout captures the rush of Disney’s iconic whitewater adventure with layered textures, tilted photos, and splashes of dimension.

Some scrapbook layouts are special, but this one? It’s an adrenaline rush! Just like the ride itself, this Grizzly River Run-inspired scrapbook page is packed with movement, texture, and adventure!

Why This Layout is Different—And So Special

When I started scrapbooking, I noticed something funny… every single Disneyland trip, we took pictures in the exact same spots. I never realized it before! But once I did? It drove me crazy.

So on this trip (which may be my last—cue the tears 😭) I was determined to switch things up and capture photos I had never taken before. And what better place than one of our absolute favorite rides—Grizzly River Run?!

🚨 Spoiler Alert: I now understand why I never had photos from this ride. IT’S A WILD, WATER-SOAKED, CHAOTIC EXPERIENCE! 🌊🤣

Between getting tossed around, water splashing everywhere, and trying not to lose my phone overboard, my ā€œbrilliant planā€ to snap pics turned into a hilarious disaster. The photos? Blurry. Cropped weird. Covered in water. But you know what? I scrapped them anyway. Because THIS is the memory.

That’s why this layout isn’t just a page—it’s a whole experience!

āœ” The tilted photos? That’s the feeling of getting bounced around the raft.

āœ” The water splashes everywhere? A nod to the soaked-to-the-bone aftermath.

āœ” The Grizzly Peak centerpiece? Because when you see it, you know you’re about to get drenched.

This layout isn’t about perfect pictures—it’s about the thrill, the laughter, and the unforgettable chaos of the ride. And THAT’S what scrapbooking is all about.

Designing the Layout: How I Brought the Wild Rapids to Paper

Designing the Grizzly River Run layout in Design SpaceĀ®ļø — mapping out each detail from the iconic mountain to the river and 3D effects before bringing it all to life.

Before I even touched my paper trimmer, I wanted to make sure this layout had movement. I didn’t want a flat, perfectly aligned design because this ride is anything but smooth!

So I turned to Cricut Design SpaceĀ®ļø to mock it all up first. Here’s why:

āœ” It helped me visualize the layers, from the towering Grizzly Peak to the foamy river below.

āœ” I could adjust the tilt of the photos to mimic the real-life ride experience.

āœ” It saved me from cutting a million tiny pieces and hoping they fit. (No thanks!)

Once the digital version was ready, I used my CricutĀ®ļø to cut out all the key elements—the mountain, river, sign, trees, and water splashes. Then it was time to bring it to life!

Making the Magic: Bringing the Rapids to Life in 6 Steps

1. Starting with the Background:

Every great layout starts with a strong foundation—and in this case, that meant a 12x12 base of CTMH Lake Life Paper for a woodsy border.

āœ” I layered a White Daisy Cardstock sheet on top as the main base.

āœ” Using a blending brush & Glacier Ink, I softly inked the sky for a natural, airy effect.

šŸ’” Pro Tip: Inking your background gives it a soft, painterly look and helps blend elements together for a more immersive feel!

2. Building the Mountain and River Elements:

• For the mountain, use Pine Cardstock and enhance it with CTMH Pine Ink applied with a sponge dauber in swirling motions. This detail gives the mountain a textured, realistic look.

• Add a cut SVG from Design SpaceĀ®ļø, layering it over the mountain to create a focal point with Grizzly Peak.

3. Creating the River and Sandy Shore:

Using CTMH Pine Cardstock and ink, this step adds depth to the mountain area. The river water comes to life with inked scraps in Glacier, Sage, and Lagoon.

• The river water is crafted from scraps in Glacier, Sage, and Lagoon cardstock, each piece inked to add depth.

• For the sandy shore, layer several pieces with glitter paste, giving them a sparkling, wet appearance that echoes the ride’s splashy feel.

🚩 3. The Grizzly River Run Sign: A Custom Title That Pops!

No Disney-inspired layout is complete without a signature ride sign!

āœ” I designed the Grizzly River Run sign in Design SpaceĀ®ļø and cut it with my Cricut.

āœ” Layered it over the mountain for a bold, eye-catching title!

šŸ’” Pro Tip: Designing custom ride signs brings extra personality to your Disney layouts—and it’s SO fun to create!

🌲 4. Pine Tree Silhouettes: Framing the Scene

To create a balanced visual triangle, I added black cardstock pine trees along the right side of the mountain.

āœ” These ground the layout and help frame the photos beautifully.

āœ” Their silhouette style keeps them from overpowering the page while still adding that woodsy, outdoorsy vibe!

šŸ’” Pro Tip: When designing scrapbook pages, use framing elements (like trees, borders, or inked edges) to guide the viewer’s eye through the layout!

šŸ’¦ 5. Adding Photos & 3D Water Splashes for Maximum Impact!

The photos are staggered and tilted, with foam-taped water splashes added for a dynamic, interactive feel that brings the ride’s excitement to the layout.

Here’s where the real adventure begins! šŸŽ¢

āœ” I staggered the three photos for a dynamic, action-packed feel!

āœ” Each photo is tilted slightly, just like the wild twists & turns of the ride!

āœ” Foam-taped water splashes bring the layout to life—you can almost hear the rushing rapids! 🌊

šŸ’” Pro Tip: Adding foam-taped elements makes certain pieces pop off the page, creating a true sense of movement & energy!

šŸ’¦ Why This Layout is One of My All-Time Favorites

First time we captured photos of ourselves on the ride rather than just the scenery
This first time we captured photos of ourselves on the ride rather than just the scenery

Not only does this page capture an incredible memory, but it reminds me why I scrapbook in the first place.

Scrapbooking isn’t just about perfect photos. It’s about stories. Emotions. The little details that make a memory come alive.

If I only scrapped ā€œperfectā€ photos, this layout wouldn’t exist. And that would be a shame—because it’s one of my absolute favorites.

So here’s my challenge to you: scrap the blurry, messy, imperfect memories because those are usually the ones that matter the most.
