Confession time: I may have gone a little overboard with cutting hearts for a previous project. (Okay, a lot overboard.) Let’s just say I now have enough hearts to last me several lifetimes—or at least through Valentine’s Day 2045. 🤫 But hey, when life gives you extra hearts, you turn them into beautiful cards, right?
These Valentine’s Day cards prove that a crafting “oops” can lead to something truly magical. With the Stampin’ Up! Chantilly Lace stamp doing most of the heavy lifting, all you need are a few embellishments, some heartfelt sentiments, and a touch of creativity to make cards that wow. Let’s dive in!

Step-by-Step: How to Create These Lace Looking Valentine’s Day Cards
1. Create the Base
• Start with a 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” card base using Basic White Thick Cardstock (8-1/2” x 11”).
2. Add the First Mat
• Cut your colored cardstock mat to the same size as your card base (5-1/2” x 4-1/4”).
• Hollow out the center to create a frame, reducing bulk while maintaining the layered look.
3. Prepare the White Card Layer
• Cut your Basic White layer to 5-1/4” x 4”.
4. Stamp the Lace Design
• Using the Chantilly Lace Stamp, stamp the lace design across the top and bottom corners of the white card layer in opposite corners. Use a coordinating ink color that matches your chosen colored cardstock.
• Adhere this layer to your color cardstock card base.
5. Prepare the Hearts
• Use your Cricut®️ to cut hearts in various sizes:
The whites hearts on my cards measure:
• Large Heart: 3.75” x 3.36
• Medium Heart: 1.28” x 1.13”
• Small Heart: .73” x 65”
• Tiny Heart: .49” x .43”
• For each heart, cut one in white and one slightly larger in your colored cardstock to create a mat.
6. Assemble the Hearts
• Adhere the white hearts onto their colored mats using adhesive. Let them dry completely.
7. Stamp and Arrange the Hearts
• Attach the large heart to the center of the card and stamp your sentiment in the center.
8. Add Smaller Hearts
• Arrange the smaller hearts around the center heart, ensuring some overlap with the stamped lace areas.
• Before attaching the hearts, use a smaller netting stamp from the Chantilly Lace Stamp Set to add extra lace elements to the card in areas where the hearts will overlap.
9. Adhere and Finish with Shimmer
• Adhere all the hearts to the card and use the Close to My Heart Clear Shimmer Brush to add a touch of sparkle to the design.
This simple yet elegant design is perfect for Valentine’s Day and easy to customize for other occasions!
Not Just for Valentine’s Day!
