This 5x7 Valentine’s Day card has all the charm of a heartfelt creation without the stress of overcomplicated details. Ready to celebrate love in style? Let me show you how I created this card—and maybe inspire you to craft one of your own!

Made with Cardstock Only -A Simple Yet Stunning Handmade Valentine’s Day Card!
What makes this card even more special? It’s crafted entirely from cardstock! No fancy embellishments or specialty products—just good old-fashioned paper magic. This design shows that you can create something elegant and heartfelt with just the basics, making it perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike.
How I Made This Card
Before cutting any paper, I planned the layout in Cricut® Design Space. This tool is a game-changer for visualizing designs and experimenting with placement before diving into the crafting process.
Building the Base
The card base was crafted from Stampin’ Up! Basic White Thick cardstock, folded into a standard A2 size. This sturdy foundation provides a clean canvas for layering.
I used vertical banners in Cherry Cobbler, Pretty in Pink, and Smoky Slate cardstock to create the design. These strips added bold lines and vibrant contrast, perfect for a Valentine’s Day theme.
I started with a Cherry Cobbler mat measuring 4.25” x 2.5” for the centerpiece. On top of that, I adhered to a Basic White panel (4.25” x 1.75”) stamped with the word “Celebrate” from the Stampin’ Up! Iconic Imagery Stamp Set in JET BLACK STĀZON ink.
To frame the sentiment, I added Smoky Slate strips (4.25” x 0.25”) to the top and bottom of the Basic White panel. This subtle detail gave the card a polished, finished look.
Adding the Hearts
Using my Cricut®, I cut hearts in Cherry Cobbler and Basic White cardstock. To add dimension, I layered Cherry Cobbler hearts with white centers and brushed them with the CTMH Clear Shimmer Brush for a touch of sparkle.
I arranged the hearts in a cascading pattern on the left top and bottom right of the card to frame the “Celebrate” sentiment. This created a dynamic focal point that ties the whole design together.
Final Touches
For a hint of extra sparkle, I added Stampin’ Up! Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card. These little accents brought just the right amount of shine, making this simple cardstock-only card, truly special.
Inside the Card
For the inside, I used the CTMH Heartful Thoughts stamp set for the “Love” sentiment in Cherry Cobbler. The leaf border was stamped with JET BLACK STĀZON, and I added “Happy Valentine’s Day” from the Stampin’ Up! Hearts Elegance set. A small floral stamp in Cherry Cobbler completed the design, creating a heartfelt message for the recipient.
