New year, new projects! Starting 2025 with a creative bang—it’s only the second day of the year, and I’ve already completed two projects! These Valentine’s Day cards are the perfect blend of timeless elegance and versatile design. Featuring a standout focal point and Stampin’ Up! favorites like Blackberry Bliss ink and cardstock, these cards are all about spreading the love this season.
Whether you’re crafting for a sweetheart, family, or friends, these Handmade Valentine's Day Elegance Cards are Sure To Steal & Warm Hearts faster than a February hot chocolate. (And they’re easier to make than you think!)
What You’ll Need to Create Valentine’s Elegance: A Handmade Valentine's Day Cards Sure To Steal Hearts!
Here’s a quick rundown of the main materials I used to create this stunning card:
• Stampin’ Up! Cardstock: Basic White Thick (card base), Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, Cherry Cobbler, and White Willow.
• Embossing Folder: So Swirly 3D Embossing Folder for the textured base.
• Dies: Something Fancy Dies for the elegant sentiment cutouts.
• Ink Pads: Stampin’ Up! Classic Stampin’ Pads in Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, and Cherry Cobbler for stamping sentiments.
• Ribbon: Blackberry Bliss and Gold Ribbon for added elegance on Blackberry Bliss cards. I used matching cardstock as a faux ribbon with gold gel pen stitching for other colors.
• Sentiments: Hearts of Elegance Bundle for the heartfelt “Happy Valentine’s Day” greeting.
• Embellishments: RHINESTONE BASIC JEWELS for a final touch of shimmer and sophistication (name to be updated).
How to Steal Hearts (With Paper, Not Cupid’s Arrows) How to Make These Handmade Valentine's Day Cards
1. Building the Base
The card starts with a clean foundation of White Willow cardstock, embossed using the So Swirly 3D Embossing Folder. This creates a subtle but striking textured backdrop for the design.
2. Adding the Focal Point
The central element of the card is a lacy heart die-cut (a retired CTMH product) layered in a rich contrasting color—Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, or Cherry Cobbler.
3. Sentiment Magic
The sentiment, stamped with the Hearts of Elegance Bundle, is die-cut using the Something Fancy Dies. Each color variation is paired with its corresponding ink: Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, or Cherry Cobbler. The elegant sentiment is then layered on coordinating cardstock to create a polished focal point.
4. Ribbon (or Faux Ribbon!)
On the Blackberry Bliss cards, I used a luxurious Blackberry Bliss and Gold Ribbon for a touch of shine. For the Melon Mambo and Cherry Cobbler cards, I created a faux ribbon effect by layering matching cardstock strips and embellishing them with a gold gel pen for stitched detailing.
5. Adding the Sparkle
To finish each card, I added a scattering of sparkle dots for a bit of glitz and glamour. These little details bring the card to life, making it a true showstopper.
Why This Card Stole My Heart
If there’s one card that screams “versatility,” it’s this one. Swap the sentiment for a wedding or anniversary greeting, change the colors to fit any occasion, or go all out with heat embossing for a luxe look. It’s timeless, classy, and oh-so-fun to customize.
Pro Tip: Heat emboss the sentiment in gold or silver for an ultra-glam wedding invitation or bridal shower card. Trust me, the shimmer takes these designs to the next level!
