Tiny hands, big milestones! šŸš€šŸ’™ This baby scrapbook layout captures my little guyā€™s first attempts at crawlingā€”drool and all! šŸ„°šŸ“ø #BabyScrapbooking #ToTheMoonAndBackā€

Baby scrapbook layouts hold a special kind of magic. Tiny hands, sleepy smiles, first gigglesā€”every moment feels too precious to let slip away. Thatā€™s why scrapbooking baby memories isnā€™t just a craft; itā€™s a love letter to those fleeting first years.

So when I saw the Everyday Happiness Designer Series Paper from Stampinā€™ Up!, I knew exactly what I had to do. The soft watercolor textures, celestial patterns, and dreamy color palette made it the perfect choice for a baby-themed scrapbook layout!

This ā€œTo the Moon & Backā€ layout is filled with layers, textures, and sentimental details that bring those precious baby moments to life. Whether youā€™re preserving memories of your little one or creating a heartfelt baby shower gift, letā€™s dive into the details and craft a keepsake to cherish forever!

Ā

Everyday Happiness DSP - The Perfect Paper for a Baby Scrapbook Layout!

šŸŒŸ Why Everyday Happiness DSP is PERFECT for Baby Scrapbook Layouts!

Your patterned paper sets the tone for your scrapbook page, and let me tell youā€”Everyday Happiness DSP was love at first sight! šŸ’•

Vertical pattern strips in blue and beige; checks, flowers, stripes. Textured background creates a calm, rustic feel.

āœØ Soft watercolor blends? Check.

āœØ Dreamy celestial patterns? Double check.

āœØ The perfect mix of blues, greens, and golden hues? Absolutely!

From the peaceful night sky effect to the delicate color transitions, this DSP is ideal for a baby boy-themed layoutā€”but itā€™s versatile enough for any soft, dreamy scrapbook theme!

šŸ’” Pro Tip: Before buying patterned paper, ask yourself:

āœ”ļø Will this fit a theme I scrapbook often?

āœ”ļø Does it coordinate with the cardstock I already have?

āœ”ļø Will I actually use it, or will it sit in my stash forever?

Thinking this way helps you avoid hoarding supplies and choose paper with a purpose! āœØ

Ā

šŸ“Œ A Perfect Match: Coordinating Cardstock for Everyday Happiness DSP!

EVERYDAY YOU & ME 12" X 12" (30.5 X 30.5 CM) TWO-TONE CARDSTOCK
A selection of earthy-toned cardstock sheets from the Everyday You & Me collection, ideal for crafting and creative projects.

To create a cohesive, beautifully layered design, I paired the DSP with Everyday You & Me Two-Tone Cardstock!

āœ” Lost Lagoon & Pretty Peacock ā€“ Cloud layers, title, and accents

āœ” Gray Granite & White Willow ā€“ Teddy bear, onesie, and neutral details

āœ” Pecan Pie & Basic Black ā€“ Small contrast details for added dimension

The beauty of coordinated cardstock is that it takes the guesswork out of scrapbooking. No more searching for the ā€œrightā€ shadeā€”itā€™s all in the pack!

Ā

āœ” Basic Black 12ā€ x 12ā€ Two-Tone CardstockĀ ā€“ for the teddy bearā€™s nose and eyes.

Once your layout is complete, youā€™ll want to protect it in a scrapbook album to keep it safe for years to come. I recommend using Stampinā€™ Up! 12ā€ X 12ā€ Top-Load Memory Protectorsā€”theyā€™re sturdy, clear, and perfect for preserving your handmade layouts!

šŸŽØ Inks & Coloring

āœ” CTMH Toffee Exclusive Ink (Stampinā€™ Up! Pecan Pie Classic Stampinā€™ Pad substitute) ā€“ for softly inking edges of the moon, stars, journaling strips, and teddy bear details.

āœ” CTMH Charcoal Exclusive Ink (Stampinā€™ Up! Basic Gray or Gray Granite Classic Stampinā€™ Pad substitute) ā€“ for inking the teddy bear and onesie.

āœ” CTMH Lagoon Exclusive Ink (Stampinā€™ Up! Pretty Peacock Classic Stampinā€™ Pad substitute) ā€“ for edging the photo mats.

āœ” White Gel Pen ā€“ for highlighting the teddy bear and adding soft details.

āœØ Embellishments & Details

āœ” Drusy Adhesive-Backed EmbellishmentsĀ ā€“ for a touch of sparkle around the stars, rattle, and title.

āœ” Avery Clear Labels ā€“ Printed journaling strips for a seamless, polished look.

āœ” Adhesive, Foam Tape, or Stampin' DimensionalsĀ Ā - to securely attach elements while adding depth and dimension where needed.

Essential Crafting Tools āš’ļø šŸ§°

In addition to the cardstock, embellishments, and inks, youā€™ll need a few standard crafting essentials to bring this layout together smoothly:

āœ” Cricut Design SpaceĀ® ā€“ Used for designing & cutting title elements.

āœ” Paper Trimmer ā€“ for precise cuts on your photo mats, journaling strips, and background layers.

āœ” Fine-Tip Glue ā€“ perfect for adhering delicate die-cut details like the title letters.

āœ” Paper Snips Scissors & Take Your Pick Up Tool ā€“ for fussy cutting and precise placement of smaller embellishments.

Having the right tools on hand makes crafting easier, neater, and more enjoyable!

šŸ’” A Note on Versatility!

Iā€™m working through my CTMH stash, but Stampinā€™ Up! products coordinate beautifully! Whether youā€™re using their full product line or mixing in supplies you already own, you can still create a cohesive, beautifully coordinated layout.

Step-by-Step: Creating This ā€œTo the Moon & Backā€ Baby Layout

Step 1: Build the Foundation

Black grid mat with teal border on marble surface, measuring lines. Text: "Close to My Heart." Bottom text: ThisChickLovesPaper.com.
Hollowing out the center of the Lost Lagoon cardstockā€”saving paper while keeping a sturdy frame!

Ā

Textured paper with a teal watercolor wash overlaid on speckled paper. Subtle yellow hues blend in, creating a calm and artistic mood.
Designer Series Paper "Everyday Happiness" features a serene blend of soft blue and cream brushstrokes on the front and a delicate geometric pattern on the back, perfect for adding a touch of tranquility to any project.

ā€¢ Trim Everyday Happiness DSP to 11.75ā€ x 11.75ā€ and mount it onto a Lost Lagoon cardstock border (12ā€ x 12ā€), hollowing out the center for future use.

ā€¢ The soft watercolor wash of the DSP creates a dreamy backdrop, setting the tone for the entire layout.

Pro Tip: Want to maximize your cardstock? Hollow out the center of your border piecesā€”youā€™ll have extra paper for mats and embellishments while keeping the sturdy frame!

Ā

Step 2: Create the Focal Elements

ā€¢ Moon & Stars: Cut from the soft golden star-patterned DSP and inked with CTMH Toffee Ink for a warm glow.

ā€¢ Clouds: Cut from Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock cardstock, layered for dimension and outlined in black for contrast.

Ā

Step 3: Double-mat the Photos

Teal ink pad labeled "Lagoon," two blank cards, and teal cloud cutouts on marble background. Text reads ThisChickLovesPaper.com.
Double-matted cards using White Willow and Lost Lagoon cardstock, inked with CTMH Lagoon Ink for added definition, ready for creative projects.

ā€¢ Cut White Willow cardstock to 3.25ā€ x 4.25ā€

ā€¢ Lost Lagoon cardstock to 3.5ā€ x 4.5ā€ for a double-matted effect.

ā€¢ Ink Lost Lagoon edges with CTMH Lagoon Ink for subtle definition.

ā€¢ Adhere mats together.

Pro Tip: Running the white mat directly across an ink pad can add extra contrast, making your photos pop! Try using gray, black, or tan for a soft, blended look.

Ā

Step 4: Position the Layout Elements

āœ” Moon:

Test fitting the moon before adheringā€”keeping flexibility as other elements are added!

Positioned near the top center as the main focal point. Do not adhere to it yetā€”this allows flexibility to adjust as other elements are placed. Reposition as needed for the best fit.

Ā

āœ” Clouds:

Layering clouds in Lost Lagoon & Pretty Peacock for contrastā€”one tucked behind the moon, another popped up with foam tape for extra dimension.

Layered along the top left corner, with one slightly tucked behind another and one partially tucked behind the moon. The top cloud is popped up with foam tape to create dimension. Alternating colors add contrast and make the layers pop!

Ā

āœ” Photos:

Angling and overlapping photos at the bottom left for a dynamic, staggered effect.

Placed at the bottom left corner, staggered and slightly angled for a dynamic, overlapping look.

Ā

āœ” Journaling Strips:

Scrapbook page with moon and stars on a blue gradient sky. Two photo frames, swirling clouds, and text blocks. Dreamy and whimsical mood.
Journaling strips staggered in the bottom right-hand cornerā€”printed on Avery Clear Labels for a seamless look.

It is even staggered in the bottom right-hand corner to create a clean, structured feel. The journaling is typed onto Avery Clear Labels, then trimmed to fit each strip, giving the text a seamless, printed-on-paper look.

Ā

Step 5: Add the Final Embellishments

Baby in striped pajamas with teddy bear, a baby shirt labeled "Boy," stars, and text: "Dream big, little one! The world is yours!"
The teddy bear & rattle add the perfect touchā€”both inked for softness, with foam tape giving them a layered effect!

šŸ“Œ Teddy Bear & Rattle:

ā€¢ Cut from Gray Granite cardstock with inked edges and white gel pen highlights.

ā€¢ Positioned in the bottom left-hand corner, underneath the photo.

ā€¢ The bear and top of the baby rattle are popped up with foam tape for a layered effect.

šŸ“Œ Title Placement:

ā€¢ Title is placed above the journaling.

ā€¢ ā€œBabyā€ (Pretty Peacock) is glued directly to the page.

ā€¢ ā€œBradenā€ (Lost Lagoon - light side) is slightly overlapping the word ā€œBabyā€ and popped up with foam tape for extra dimension.

šŸ“Œ Drusy Embellishments:

ā€¢ Scattered around the stars, rattle, and title to add a soft sparkle that enhances the celestial theme.

šŸ“Œ Sentimental Touches:

Baby photos on a scrapbook page with a moon, stars, and clouds design. Text reads: "I Love You to The Moon & Back." Mood is sweet.
A sweet poem placed in the sky near the starsā€”adding charm and personal sentiment to the layout.

ā€¢ A sweet little poem is typed onto an Avery Clear Label and placed in the sky next to the stars. Not only does it help fill the space, but it also adds character and charm, making the layout feel even more personal.

ā€¢ A fun little sentiment is tucked into the bottom right-hand corner, nestled under the cluster of embellishments for an extra layer of whimsy and detail.

Ā

šŸŒŸ Pro Tip: Stack Your Title & Embellishments for a 3D Effect!

Want your title and word embellishments to stand out? Layer them!

Scrapbook page with "Baby Braden" text, written notes, and sparkling embellishments on a textured, earthy background. Cozy and joyful mood.
The title comes to life! ā€œBabyā€ is glued flat, while ā€œBradenā€ is popped up with foam tape for dimension.

āœ” The title ā€œBradenā€ has two stacked layers for a bold, dimensional look.

āœ” The words ā€œBabyā€ & ā€œBoyā€ are stacked three times to really pop off the page!

āœ” The rattle? Itā€™s got two Pretty Peacock layers for a sturdy, raised effect.

Why does this work? Stacking multiple die cuts gives your elements depth, shadowing, and a professional finish! Try it with letters, shapes, and even simple embellishments for an extra wow factor.

āœØ Cricut Tip! If youā€™re using a Cricut for your title, try doing a Print Then Cut with an offset layer. Not only will you get a perfectly spaced outline, but the text is already written out! This makes letter placement effortless and ensures everything is aligned.
