For my son’s first “real” birthday party, we went all out—Batman decorations, poolside fun, and of course, a larger-than-life cake fit for a superhero! But little did I know, the real star of the show wasn’t Batman—it was the black icing mustache that lasted a full WEEK! 😂

🎂 BRINGING THE BATMAN BIRTHDAY SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT TO LIFE – STEP BY STEP!

This layout is all about energy, fun, and storytelling, so I made sure every element added to the party vibes! 🎊

🏗 Step 1: Setting the Foundation

• Since this layout was built with leftover scraps, I got creative!

• I cut strips of Bluebird & Honey Butter cardstock, alternating light and dark sides for extra contrast.

• These strips were placed at the top & bottom of my White Daisy cardstock for a bold, layered effect.

📸 Step 2: Center Stage for the Photos!

• The patterned papers were placed in the center to create a lively backdrop.

• Double-matted photos (White Daisy & Bluebird cardstock) were staggered in height & tilt for a playful, eye-catching look!

🎁 Step 3: Popping Up the Party!

• The “Happy Birthday” banner was raised with foam tape to add dimension & make it shine!

• Balloon die cuts were arranged strategically to create a visual triangle (yes, we’re bringing math into crafting, but the fun kind!).

• Stickers were added to the centers of the balloons for extra pizzazz!

🎨 A COLORING MASTERPIECE… OR NOT?! 🤣

Listen, I’ll be the first to admit—I’m NOT the world’s best colorist. But that didn’t stop me from diving in with my Tri-Blend Markers to add some extra festive flair!

• I stamped sentiments, cupcakes, and presents (because what’s a party without them?!).

• Then, I attempted to color them in… let’s just say Picasso would NOT be impressed, but hey, it’s handmade! 😂💕

💡 Pro Tip: If your coloring skills are more “abstract art” than “coloring book perfect,” don’t stress! Imperfections = charm!

🎇 BLACK ICING & BATMAN: THE BIRTHDAY STORY THAT NEVER ENDED!

Let’s rewind to the party day.

I thought I had everything covered—the decorations, the cake, the presents. But I DID NOT factor in the long-lasting effects of black icing. 🖤😂

• That Batman cake? A masterpiece.

• That black icing? A total disaster.

• My son’s face? LOOKED LIKE HE GOT INTO A FIGHT WITH A SHARPIE! 🤦‍♀️

And guess what? It didn’t wash off. Not for a day. Not for three days. A WHOLE WEEK of looking like a tiny Batman villain. 😭😂

So moral of the story?

🍰 Black icing = bad idea.

📸 But black icing mustaches? 100% scrapbook-worthy!

✨ FINAL TOUCHES – MAKING IT SPARKLE!
