Step-by-Step: Crafting Your Sweet & Spooky Kit - Halloween Treat Boxes 👻

Step 1 – Unpack the Magic ✨

Halloween-themed paper crafts on a dark surface include ghosts, pumpkins, stars, and tags with texts "EEEK!" and "hey BOO." Bright and playful.
Sorting like a pro so each little pile becomes one big BOO-tiful project. 💜

The very first thing you’re going to do is unpack your Sweet & Spooky Kit and take a look at all the goodies inside. This kit includes three different treat box designs, a full set of step-by-step instructions, plus embellishments, dimensionals, adhesive, and twine for your bows. There’s a lot of fun packed into this box, and that means a lot of little pieces to work with… so staying organized from the start will make your crafting time a breeze.

What I like to do first is lay everything out and create piles. So basically, all like items are in the same piles.

Step 2 – Follow the Frighteningly Easy Instructions 👻

Once you’ve got everything sorted, open your instruction sheet. You’ll notice it shows Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3 together in illustrated graphics. These visuals are extremely handy because they clearly indicate which embellishments match each treat box design.

Now here’s the best part—no dies, no

Pop, stack, repeat! Those pre-cut sheets punch out easier than candy disappearing on Halloween night. 🍬

machines, no punching tools required. All of the embellishments are pre-cut and perforated, so you can literally punch them out with your fingers. I usually grab a few sheets at a time and pop the pieces out together. Most come out easily, so you can move quickly—but just take your time on the more detailed ones so you don’t bend the edges.

As you punch each shape out, I place them right into the piles that match their corresponding box. By the time you’re done, you’ll have everything neatly organized for each treat box—ready for assembly

& decorating.

Step 3 – Assemble & Adorn 🎃

Craft supplies on a dark table include paper cutouts of houses, pumpkin labels saying "trick or TREAT," tape, bling, and paperclips.
Visual steps make these kits so easy—even your coffee table can be a craft station. ☕✂️

Now that your pieces are punched out and your piles are organized, the real fun begins—assembling! ✂️

Grab your instruction sheet and you’ll notice that Step 1 corresponds with pile one, Step 2 with pile two, and so on. You won’t find worded instructions in these kits—they’re visual! Each step is illustrated with clear photos that show how the box should fold, where to place the embellishments, and how the finished project should look.

Colorful Halloween tags on a dark surface feature ghosts, bats, "BOO," "EEEK!" and "trick or TREAT," with orange, black, and purple accents.
Three designs—“Trick or Treat,” “Eeek!,” and “Hey Boo”—ready to dress up your treat boxes in style. 🧡

The first step, according to the guide, is to assemble the boxes first, then the tags. But since my craft space (a.k.a. the coffee table!) was already full of organized piles, we switched it up a little—and honestly, it worked perfectly.

We started by going through each pile and assembling all the tags first. Once a group of tags was complete, we placed them right back on top of their coordinating pile with the unassembled box. Then we moved on to the next set of tags, and the next, until all three designs were done.

Pro Tip: Don’t worry if you decide to change the order like we did! Whether you build the boxes first or the tags first, the results are the same—adorable treat boxes ready to fill with candy and kindness.

Step 4 – Finishing Touches & Happy Accidents 🎃

After every tag was finished, we circled back and assembled the boxes one by one. Folding along the score lines was super simple, and since the adhesive is already included in the kit, no glue is needed! Once each box was built, we matched the tags back up with their coordinating design pile and adhered them in place.

Boxed, bowed, and boo-tiful. All assembled, all adorable, and completely candy-ready. 🎁✨

Now, this next step was totally optional, but it made a big difference for us. The kit is designed so the tags clip on with the little paper clips, but because these treat boxes were being passed out at Little Man’s work, we wanted to make sure the tags stayed attached even after the candy was gone. So we decided to adhere the tags directly to the boxes and then clip the paper clip on top for decoration. That way, when someone opens their box, the tag (and their name!) stays put. It’s a tiny tweak that keeps the presentation neat and personal.

Everything was going smoothly… until I suddenly heard Little Man in full-on panic mode.

Plot twist! He swapped the tags… and they are just as cute. The Sweet & Spooky Kit: 100% mistake-proof magic! 💫

“Mom! I messed up!” 😱

He’d realized he’d mixed up a couple of the tags between boxes… and guess what? They looked like they were meant to be that way! 💜

That’s the best part about the Sweet & Spooky Kit Halloween Treat Boxes: you can follow the pictures exactly or mix things up and create your own look. Every piece coordinates perfectly, so even a “mistake” turns into a creative win.

And just like that, our spooky little assembly line of treat boxes was complete! Every tag was attached, every box was waiting to be filled! What I love most about the Sweet & Spooky Kit Halloween Treat Boxes is how simple they are to put together — no stress, no mess, just instant Halloween happiness.

This project reminded me that crafting doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes, the easiest projects are the ones that bring the most joy… especially when they’re made with someone you love. These boxes were more than just treat holders; they were a fun, creative way for Little Man to say thank you to his team and for us to spend some quality time together.

Pro Tip: The next time you want to make a thoughtful gift, grab a kit! Whether it’s for coworkers, teachers, friends, or trick-or-treaters, there’s nothing sweeter than sharing a little handmade kindness.

Final Thoughts: Crafting Gratitude Together 💖

Proud crafter moment unlocked. Little Man showing off his handiwork—proof that crafting kindness never goes out of style. 💜

If you’ve been around for a while, you might remember when Little Man first asked me to make thank-you cards for his team… the ones with the hamburgers and fries that said “You’re Flippin’ Awesome!” 🍔🍟

That same thoughtful spirit showed up again this Halloween. Still the youngest manager, still learning, still leading with heart. He wanted to thank his employees again… but this time, with treat boxes instead of cards.

We spent the afternoon crafting, laughing, and stuffing candy like pros. And honestly? That’s what this whole crafting journey is about. It’s not just paper and glue, it’s connection, creativity, and kindness wrapped in cardstock.

Keep crafting kindness, one sweet surprise at a time..
