Living in Vegas, snow days are a rare delight. When they do arrive, they transform the city into a winter wonderland, offering a special opportunity to create unforgettable memories. On one such day, I gave my son a day off from school to enjoy the snow, a magical experience that I’ve captured in our family scrapbook..
Capturing the Moment with ‘Gnomes for Winter’ Collection:
For documenting this rare snowy day, I chose the whimsical “Gnomes for Winter” collection, which perfectly encapsulates the spirit of winter joy. This collection provided the ideal backdrop for a 12x12 double-page scrapbook layout that brings our snowy adventures to life.
Materials Used:
• Gnomes for Winter’ Scrapbooking Stamp + Thin Cuts: Featuring charming snowmen and sled designs.
• Triangle Trees Stamps & Thin Cuts
• Snow Much Fun Stamps & Thin Cuts
• CTMH Gnomes For Winter Cardstock and Patterned Paper: For cutting and layering.
• Tri Blend Markers and Shimmer Brushes: To add color depth and a sparkling effect.
• Cricut® Machine: For cutting titles.
Crafting the Layout:
1. Designing the Theme: The layout was inspired by the scenic beauty of a snow-covered Vegas, using images of snowmen and gnomes to add a playful touch.
2. Layering Paper Strips: I began by cutting and layering strips of themed patterned paper to create a dynamic background that mimics the layers of snow.
3. Stamping and Embellishing: Using the ‘Gnomes for Winter’ stamps, I added triangle trees and snowmen to the layout. Each stamp was carefully colored with Tri Blend markers and highlighted with shimmer brushes for a frosty look.
The combination of stamped images and Die cut trees creates a rich, layered effect that makes the snow day scenes pop off the pages. The use of shimmer brushes brings a subtle sparkle, mimicking the glistening snow in the winter sun.
This scrapbook layout not only preserves our special memories of playing in the snow but also showcases the versatility and creative potential of the ‘Gnomes for Winter’ collection. Join me in celebrating the art of scrapbooking and the magic of winter with this enchanting collection.
