Hello, crafty friends! 🎄✨
Ever since my little man discovered I could scrapbook, he’s convinced I can create anything, and his latest request was for Christmas Gift Card Holders!
These beautiful holders add a personal and festive touch to holiday gift-giving. Today, I’m excited to show you how to make them yourself using a combination of Stampin’ Up! and CTMH products!
Materials Used:
I sometimes incorporate Close To My Heart (CTMH) products in my projects, but don’t worry—Stampin’ Up! has many crossover colors and products that work beautifully as alternatives! Whether it’s cardstock, ink, or embellishments, I can help you find Stampin’ Up! products that match or complement what you see in my projects. Feel free to reach out with any questions or for product recommendations. I’m here to help guide you every step of the way!
• Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Seasons Stamp Set
• Stampin’ Up! Greetings of the Seasons Stamp Set
• Stampin’ Up! BlackBerry Bliss Cardstock
• CTMH White Daisy Cardstock
• CTMH White Daisy Stamp Pad
• CTMH Intense Black Stamp Pad
• Stampin’ Up! Deckled Circle Dies
• Stampin’ Up! BlackBerry Bliss & Gold Textured Ribbon
• Velcro Dots (I used black for this project)
• Adhesive, glue, paper trimmer, die-cut machine, and other basic crafting tools
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Prep Work:
Begin by cutting all your cardstock and patterned paper to the measurements in the instruction guide. I used BlackBerry Bliss Cardstock as the base.
2. Scoring:
Score your Blackberry Bliss cardstock base at 6” & 21/2”. This creates the folds for the envelope.
3. Double Matting:
To create contrast, I double-matted the White Daisy and Regal Winter DSP. This technique adds a beautiful definition between the BlackBerry Bliss Cardstock and the patterned paper. Do not adhere to the base just yet.
**If you want to add elegance, you can also use Stampin’ Up! Gold Foil Sheets instead of White Daisy as mat layers.
4. Stamp the Sentiment:
Using the CTMH Intense Black Ink, stamp “To:” and “From:” Sentiments from the Greeting of the Seasons Stamp Set onto the remaining piece of CTMH White Daisy Cardstock.
**You can substitute White Willow Cardstock for White Daisy.
5. Attach the Stamped Piece:
Adhere this stamped piece to the inside top flap of the gift card holder, ensuring it’s positioned neatly and securely.
6. Adding Ribbon & Double Matted Card
Panels:
With creases facing down, position your double-matted panels on card ends ensuring that patterns face correctly when folded.
Before adhering panel pieces, lay the Blackberry Bliss & Gold textured Ribbon across the card as shown in the photo above. Add a dot of glue to the center back of the card to adhere to the BlackBerry Bliss & Gold Textured Ribbon. Let dry.
Once dry flip the card over, fold the card & attach double-matted panels, tucking the Blackberry Bliss & Gold Textured Ribbon into the panel for a clean finished edge as shown in the photo above.
7. Stamping the Outer Sentiment:
Stamp the “Hoping Your Season Bright & Beautiful” sentiment from the Peaceful Seasons Stamp Set using CTMH White Daisy Ink on a piece of BlackBerry Bliss cardstock and set it aside to dry.
8. Die-Cutting the Sentiment:
Once the sentiment is dry, use the Deckled Circle Dies to cut it into a circle. Next, use the larger die from the set to cut another circle from the Stampin’ Up! Gold Foil Sheets These two circles will be adhered together, serving as both the focal point on the front of the card and the functional closure element.
9. Final Assembly:
Position and attach the sentiment cluster to the center front of the card. Ensure half of the cluster sits on the top flap, with the remainder hanging over the edge. On the underside of the overhang, attach a small Velcro dot to help keep the gift card securely closed.
