Hey everyone, it’s April from This Chick Loves Paper! I’m thrilled to share a story that combines crafting with a touch of holiday magic. It all started with the elegant CTMH Silver Bells collection during a catalog launch—an event where new craft products are introduced.
Crafting with the Family:
Picture this: a typical day turned extraordinary with crafting. My 18-year-old son, usually not the crafting type, walked in and decided to join me. What started as a solo project became a festive family affair, turning into a session of making Christmas cards together!
Materials Used:
• CTMH Silver Bells Collection: This collection includes elegant designs perfect for the holidays, with colors like Charcoal, Toffee, and Mink and accents in silver and gold.
• Stamp Sets and Thin Cuts: Tools for stamping and cutting designs, specifically for holiday themes like “Holiday Memories” and “’Tis the Season.”
• Cardstock and Designer Paper: Thick paper used for crafting, in various colors for layering and detailing our cards.
• Inks and Colored Pencils: Used to add color and details to the stamped images.
• Adhesives: Foam tape for adding dimension and glue for assembling parts of the card.
Crafting Experience:
We dove into making Christmas cards using the sophisticated elements from the Silver Bells collection. The fun of crafting together turned into my son’s proud moment, leading to a new family tradition—making our holiday cards together!
Benefits of Crafting with Family:
Crafting isn’t just a creative outlet; it’s beneficial at every age. For young children, it supports skills like recognizing colors and shapes. For teens like my son, it offers a sense of accomplishment and self-expression. Most importantly, it brings us together, enhancing our connection and creating lasting memories.
Conclusion:
This impromptu crafting session not only produced beautiful Christmas cards but also sparked a tradition we all look forward to. Crafting together is more than just making things; it’s about creating memories that last beyond the holiday season.
