🎃✨ This Halloween, I conjured up a spellbinding card inspired by the iconic scene of the Sanderson sisters around the cauldron in the beloved Disney movie *Hocus Pocus*.
Using the Stampin' Up! "Potions and Spells" stamp and die, I recreated the bubbling cauldron scene that every fan of the film will recognize and love.
Here’s how I brought this enchanting card to life!
Supplies Used:
• Stampin’ Up! “Potions and Spells” stamp and dies
• Three Colors Glimmer paper (purple piece)
• 2024-2026 In Color Glimmer paper
• Design Space and Cricut for “Amuck, Amuck, Amuck” borders
• Hocus Pocus SVG files cut with Cricut
• 5x7 Blank Cards
• 1/4 inch black strips
• Perennial Postage dies
• Heat embossing tools and powders
Step-by-Step Creation:
1. Card Size and Background:
• The card measures 5x7 inches, providing ample space for all the magical details.
• I started by cutting the “Three Colors Glimmer” paper and the 2024-2026 In Color Glimmer paper into 1-inch strips. These vibrant, glittery strips form the dazzling background of the card, giving it an overall “magical” appearance.
2. Amuck Borders:
• Using Design Space and my Cricut, I created the “Amuck, Amuck, Amuck” borders. These were carefully cut and positioned to frame the card beautifully. The borders add a whimsical touch that’s true to the spirit of the Sanderson sisters.
3. Separation Strips:
• To give the card a clean and defined look, I placed 1/4 inch black strips to separate the glitter paper from the Amuck borders. This simple detail helps the various elements stand out and adds to the overall neatness of the design.
4. Centerpiece
- For the central focal point, I cut a piece of black cardstock and used the Perennial Postage dies to create a white center. This space sets the stage for the magical cauldron scene.
5. The Cauldron Scene
• The cauldron, brimming with bubbling brew, is the highlight of the card. I used the “Potions and Spells” stamp and dies to craft this element.
Using the “Spells & Potions Dies, I cut the cauldron out of black card-stock.
To add even more sparkle and dimension, the cauldron and the Sanderson sisters’ iconic hair were heat embossed with black sparkling powder. This gave the cauldron a cast iron look.
• The green ooze dripping from the cauldron was also heat embossed, and foam adhesive was used to give it a raised, dimensional effect.
• The bubbles coming out of the cauldron were stamped in CTMH Sundance, Limeade, and Lemonade, adding a burst of color and fun.
6. Finishing Touches
- Finally, using CTMH “White Daisy” ink, the sentiment “A Little Hocus Pocus” was stamped onto the cauldron , tying the entire scene together with a touch of Halloween magic.

Conclusion:
This Hocus Pocus-themed card was an absolute joy to create, and it perfectly captures the fun and whimsy of the Halloween season. With a mix of glimmer paper, intricate die cuts, and heat embossing, each element of the card adds to its enchanting appeal.
