The CTMH Secret Garden Collection has been an absolute joy to work with, offering a delightful blend of soft pastels, intricate floral patterns, and versatile designs.
Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just beginning your creative journey, this collection is a must-have for anyone looking to add a touch of elegance to their projects.
After creating a stunning scrapbook layout, I couldn’t resist using the same materials and techniques to design a series of greeting cards that truly capture the beauty of the Secret Garden.
Materials Used For Cards
• CTMH Secret Garden Collection (patterned paper and embellishments)
• CTMH SECRET GARDEN COORDINATING TWO-TONE CARDSTOCK in Pine, Periwinkle, Peach, Sage, and Honey Butter
• CTMH Stamp Pads in Pine, Periwinkle, Peach, Sage, and Honey Butter
• Stampin’ Up! Cut & Emboss Machine
• CTMH Digital Art Kit: Honey Bunny (for print-and-cut butterflies using Cricut®️)
• Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries (for flower centers and embellishments)
Designing All Occasion Cards With CTMH Secret Garden Collection
To create these all-occasion cards with CTMH Secret Garden Collection, I followed the same design principles as my scrapbook layout, with just a few minor changes. Designing the layout in Design Space®️ made it super easy to adjust the measurements to fit a 5x7 card. Here’s how I did it:
1. Creating the Base: I started with a Periwinkle border, paired with a White Daisy base, to create a clean and elegant foundation.
2. Adding the Strips: I cut strips of the Peach, Honey Butter, Periwinkle, and Avocado SECRET GARDEN COORDINATING TWO-TONE CARDSTOCK and carefully glued them in place, mimicking the layered look from the original scrapbook layout.
3. Die-Cutting the Elements: Using White Daisy Cardstock, I cut three single flowers and added leaves cut from Sage and Pine cardstock. I used the Stampin’ Up! Cut & Emboss Machine for precision.
4. Final Touches: I resized the title and the butterflies in Design Space, using the CTMH Digital Art Kit to print and cut with my Cricut®️.
Finally, I adhered all elements with glue and added Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries to the flower centers and around the cards for a polished finish.
Beyond Cards: Versatile Uses for the Secret Garden Collection
While I used the Secret Garden Collection for Homecoming photos and greeting cards, this collection can be used for so much more. Imagine creating gorgeous scrapbook pages for weddings, Easter, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and more! The elegant florals and soft pastels are perfect for capturing life’s most precious moments.
